Christensen for his faithful and devoted service to Salt Lake City during his tarns of office as a City Commissioner and also as a Director of City and County recreational programs. Catmull . . . Harrison . . < % $CX R{i7LLEY. Mr. Chairman RESOLUTION Result . . . . RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION WHEREAS, Joe L. Christensen, by the vote of the electors of Salt Lake City, has served sixteen consecutive years as a member of the City Commission of Salt Lake City, serving first as Commissioner of Streets and Public Improvements and lately as Commissioner of Parks and Public Property; and WHEREAS, prior to his service as a city commissioner he served Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County as superintendent of their respective recreation departments for a combined period of eight years; and WHEREAS, his entire public service has been characterized by an unswerving loyalty and fidelity to the public trust reposed in him and by outstanding ability and foresight; and WHEREAS, because of the excellence of his work and his untiring contribution to the administration of the affairs of Salt Lake City the citizens of the city have been greatly benefited and the growth and well-being of the city richly enhanced; and WHEREAS, his term of office has expired and his direct connec- tion with the administration of the public affairs of Salt Lake City has terminated: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY that said Board, in behalf of itself, and in behalf of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City, does hereby express to Joe L. Christensen deep and sincere appreciation for the outstanding and devoted service which he has rendered while in the public employ, and for the ability, loyalty and fidelity that has characterized that service, thereby making an enviable contribution to the growth and welfare of the community he served. Said Board hereby extends to him its best wishes for success in whatever endeavor he may pursue henceforth. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Recorder give to him a properly authenticated copy of this resolution. Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City this Fourth day of January, 1966.
