RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
WHEREAS, WILBUR C. PARKINSON is retiring from employment with
the Salt Lake City and County effective the 5th of February, 1973;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Parkinson has unselfishly served the residents
of Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County as an employee for a total
of 52 years; serving 43 years in the City and County Health Depart-
ment, 18 years of which were spent as the Director of Environmental
Health and Assistant Director of the Salt Lake City-County Health
Department; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Parkinson has been singularly honored by many
organizations for his devoted service; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Parkinson's knowledge and expertise in the Health
Department aided greatly in making a smooth transition during the
City and County Health Department consolidation; and
WHEREAS, during his entire life Mr. Parkinson has served his
community, his state, his country, his profession and his family in
a most distinguished manner.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF SALT LAKE CITY that the Board does hereby express to Wilbur C.
Parkinson on its own behalf and on the behalf of the residents of
Salt Lake City, its sincere appreciation and gratitude for his life-
time of devotion and service as an inspirational public servant to
his community, and his fellow man, and hereby extends its best wishes
to Mr. Parkinson and his wife for their continued happiness and well-
being in retirement.
James L. Barker, Commissioner, is hereby directed to deliver a
copy of this Resolution of Appreciation to Wilbur C. Parkinson.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 11th day of January, 1973.
