and dedication to public service and
wishing him success and happiness in
his chosen field of endeavor.

WHEREAS, James L. Barker, Jr. is leaving office after
eight years as a member of the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, Utah; and
WHEREAS, prior to his election as a member of the Board
of City Commissioners, he served as a City Judge and later
as Salt Lake City Attorney with distinction and honor; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Barker faithfully and diligently performed
all of his required duties while serving on said board; and
WHEREAS, the remaining members of the Board of City Com-
missioners and Salt Lake City residents owe Mr. Barker a debt
of gratitude for his leadership and dedication to public
service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that said Board does hereby express to
Commissioner Barker its sincere and heartfelt appreciation for
his service to the City and its inhabitants. The Board further
extends to him its best wishes for success and happiness in his
chosen field of endeavor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
delivered to Mr. Barker.
