RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
WHEREAS, the term of office of Herman J. Hogensen, Commissioner of
the Water Department, will expire at 12:00 o'clock noon, January 2,
1978, and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Hogensen commenced his employment with Salt
Lake City Corporation January 19, 1953, as Deputy City Recorder; and
WHEREAS, on May 15, 1956, Commissioner Hogensen was appointed as
City Recorder and served in that position until January 7, 1975, at
which time he was appointed as the Water Commissioner for Salt Lake
City Corporation; and
WHEREAS, during the course of his long tenure with Salt Lake City
Corporation, Herm, as he is affectionately known by all of his fellow
employees and friends, has performed all of his duties efficiently,
faithfully, with great fidelity and could always be depended upon to
discharge his duties and assignments with ability and thoroughness; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Hogensen has garnered the greatest respect
and love of his colleagues, fellow City employees, and the public with
whom he dealt; and
WHEREAS, Herm has served Salt Lake City and the citizens thereof
with great distinction, has contributed many long and devoted hours of
service for which Salt Lake City and its citizens owe Commissioner
Hogensen a great debt of gratitude for his unselfish and diligent
service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY that it does hereby express on its own behalf and on
behalf of the citizens of Salt Lake City, their sincere and deepest
appreciation for the diligent, devoted and capable service Commissioner
Hogensen has provided. The Board wishes him well in his retirement
and further wishes that he will enjoy happiness, health and success

in all future endeavors.
