WHEREAS, Harry F. Wood Jr. passed away on February 8,
1971, after serving as a faithful and valued employee of
Salt Lake City for twenty-two years; and
WHEREAS, he has served as custodian of Salt Lake City's
records for the past seventeen years; and
WHEREAS, his cheerful disposition and willingness to
help others endeared him to the hearts of all those who worked
with him; and
WHEREAS, his uncomplaining determination to perform his
work in such commendable manner, even in the face of great
physical impairment, was a source of strength and renewed
courage to his fellow employees and supervisors; and
WHEREAS, his public service in behalf of the physically
handicapped was known and recognized throughout the community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that it does hereby express in its own
behalf and in behalf of the residents of Salt Lake City, its
deep and sincere appreciation for the life and service of
Harry F. Wood, Jr. and for his unselfish contribution to the
happiness and welfare of others.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
delivered to the family of Harry F. Wood, Jr. as an expression
of our sympathy for the loss they have sustained in his passing.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 10th day of February, 1971.
