I move the adoption of the following resolution:-
WHEREAS, The present City Auditor of Salt Lake City h s stopped
payment upon a eertelei warrant purporting to hive been issued by
the former Auditor of 2ublic Accounts of Salt Lake Cite, dated
December 2,7, 1911, numbered 116599, to the order of John S. Brans-
ford, Mayor, for 1500.00; and
WHEREAS, The City Treasurer has refused to make payment there-
on for the reason that payment thereof was stopped as aforesaid; and
WHERHAS, The action of each of said officials was taken by
advice of counsel for Salt Lake City;
11077 THEREFORE, BE IT R SIOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CO;,IMISSIO:TERS
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH:-
That the said action of the City Auditor and the said action
of the City Treasurer be, and the same are hereby ratified and
adopted as the action of this Board, end the City Auditor is hereby
directed to continue the stoppage of payment of said purported
warrant, and the City Treasurer is hereby directed to continue to
refuse payment H less, or until otherwise directed by the courts.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:-
Thet the action of the 'oreer City Council taken on the 26th
day of December, 1911, wherein and whereby the said City Council
adopted the report of the Committee on Finance and Salaries, recome
mending the payment of w5OC.00 to one Clair Gleason, be, and the
same is hereby rescinded and annulled, and that further action on
the claim of said Clair Gleason be deferred at least until such tile
as it can be Judicially determined what person, if any, is entitled
to the money claimed by said Gleason.
