WHEREAS, Salt Lake City Corporation is selling culinary water to
residents of Salt Lake County under Special County Permits; and
WHEREAS, the said Special County Permits provide that Salt Lake City
Corporation has the right to change the water rates at any time; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City deem it necessary
for the public interest that the said water rates be increased effective
the first day of January, 1957;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City that the meter rates for permittees taking water from Salt Lake
City Corporation under Special County Permits, be, and the said rates are
hereby, increased effective the first day of January, 1957, as follows:
MONTHLY READINGS
For the first 15,000 cu. ft. -- 21 cents per 100 cu. ft.
For the next 35,000 cu. ft. -- 1$ cents per 100 cu. ft.
For all over 50,000 cu. ft. -- 15 cents per 100 cu. ft.
QUARTERLY READINGS
For the first 45,000 cu. ft. -- 21 cents per 100 cu. ft.
For the next 105,000 cu. ft. -- 1$ cents per 100 cu. ft.
And 15 cents per 100 cu. ft. for all over 150,000 cu. ft.
The minimum charge for meter service shall be $2.00 per month or
$6.00 per quarter; where premises are being supplied by more than
one water service there shall be a minimum charge of 25 cents per
month for each additional meter installed.
It is necessary in the opinion of the Board of Commissioners for the
Peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City, Utah, that
this resolution take effect upon its passage.
This rate increase shall take effect upon the first day of January, 1957.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
11th day of December, 1956.
