which increases the financial obli-
gation of Salt Lake City Corporation 11
with respect to police and firemen's
pension funds unless such legislation
also provides the means by which the
city can meet its increased obligations;
thereunder.

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, there is presently pending before the Utah
State Legislature certain legislation which would increase
the financial obligations of cities and towns with respect
to police and firemen's pension funds; and
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City Corporation is entirely
unable to meet any such obligations without an increase
in its present available revenue;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COM-
MISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY that it hereby opposes the
adoption of any legislation by the Utah State Legislature
which increases the financial obligation of Salt Lake City
Corporation with respect to police and firemen's pension
funds unless such legislation also provides the means by
which the city can meet its increased obligations thereunder.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
