Eggertsen is a native son of Salt Lake City, Utah; and WHEREAS, he has distinguished himself in the fields of music, finance and philanthropy; and WHEREAS, he is to be honored by the University of Utah Music Department for his generous support of the musical arts nationally and locally on March 12, 1971; and WHEREAS, Mr. Eggertsen has been an exemplary representative of this city and state during his extensive travels throughout the world; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that said Board, in its own behalf and in behalf of the residents of Salt Lake City, does hereby express to Mr. Dean E. Eggertsen, its sincere thanks and appreciation for his role in providing generous contributions to local organizations to sustain and improve the musical arts, including Ballet West, Utah Symphony Orchestra, Utah Shakespearean Festival and Salt Lake Chamber Music Society, and for his dedicated leadership in improving American cultural projects. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Commissioner Conrad B. Harrison be directed to present this resolution to Mr. Eggertsen at Kingsbury Hall on March 12, 1971.
