Dear Sir:-
Thesudepartrnent has received notice from the Utah
Light and :Railway Co and the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Cb
that they are about to remove their poles from the centre of several streets
of this city in obedience to orders received from the Commissioners of Salt
Lake City;the wires of the fire alarm system are strung on these poles and
of course will hcics to be removed soon as possible to allow the public service
companies. to: take out their polee,these companies have given position on their
new pole lines:; for the fire alarm wires which will have to be entirely renewed
as the old wire is completely worn out and cannot be used again,the change
will require the purchase of-about twenty miles of-No 10 Hard Drawn Triple
Braided Copper Wire which will cost with the necessary attachments approx-
imately One Thousand Dollars; I respectfully request that I be given Instr-
uctions in this matter
