Neslen Scheid _ --- Mr. Chairman RESOLUTION Result WHEREAS, The Board of education of Salt Lake City through its Superintendent of Buildings, and Salt Lake City, a ldunieipal Corporation, through its Chief of the Fire Department, have reached an agreement for the installation of fire alarm boxes at the various schools throughout Salt Lake City, as required by Section 435 of the devised Ordin€noes of Salt Lake City of 1916, as amended by an ordinance passed December 7, 1916; and WHEiEaS, The said Board of Education has approved the requirements made by the Chief of the Fire Department, and now requests that the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City shall ratify and confirm the arrangements so made; and WHEREAS, The Board of Education has agreed to purchase and deliver to Salt Lake City, f.o.b. cars Salt Lake City, 28 fire alarm boxes of a pattern and type satisfactory to the Chief of the Fire Department; and WHEREAS, The Board of Education of Salt Lake City reserves the right to designate the exact location of the boxes at each school in Salt Lake City, and has indicated its preference to locate them just within the property line at the front entrance to the premises; and WHEREAS, The said Board of Education requires and the Chief of the Fire Department recommends that Salt Lake City will receive -1- aaid boxes and furnish all labor, materials and supervision necessary for their installment at the various schools, and wilt. I immediately install same after they are received, and will thereafter maintain the said boxes and connections, keeping them in operation conneoted with the said fire alarm system; an WHEREAS, The Board of Education requires and the Chief of the Fire Department recommends that Salt Lake City will move an reset various boxes, locating them at various schools so that each school in the city having an enrollment of more than one I hundred children will be provided with fire alarm boxes; and WHEREAS, The Board of Education has agreed that as new school properties are acquired by the said Board of Education it will deliver said fire alarm boxes to Salt Lake City, f.o.b. cars Salt Lake City, of a style to be approved by the Chief of the Fire Department, and the said Chief recommends that Salt Lake City install and connect said new fire alarm boxes at the expense of the city; and WHEREAS, It is represented to the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City by Petition No. 189, signed by H. D. Bowman, Superintendent of Buildings of the Board of Education, that the foregoing covers the arrangements which have been agreed to between the Board of Education and the Chief of the Fire Department: NOW 'THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of Commissione a of Salt Lake City, That the arrangements heretofore made betwee. said Board of Education, through its Superintendent of Building: , and the Chief of the Fire Department of Salt Lake City, as here in indicated, be ratified and confirmed, and that the Chief of I -2- iI the Fire Department be authorized and directed to proceed with the work of installing and connecting said fire alarm boxes in accordance with the arrangements which are hereby recognized and authorized.
