Result
WHEREAS, it appears that the national security requires
that steps be taken to strengthen the National Defense; and
WHEREAS, there has recently been brought to the attention
of the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City the need for imme-
diate preparation for the security of the inhabitants of Salt Lake
City and their property; and
WHEREAS, this Commission deems it advisable not to spread
upon the public records the facts upon which they base their conclu-
sion for the obvious reason that it would furnish useful information
to subversive interests; and
WHEREAS, we, this Commission, deem it advisable and neces-
sary for the safety and security of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City
and their property to declare that an emergency exists.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that an emergency exists
and that the sum of Thirty-rive Thousand (435,000.00) Dollars, or so
much thereof as is necessary to provide for the safety and security
of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City, is hereby appropriated to be
used for such purpose. .
