RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCE ON THE PASSING OF POPE JOHN XXIII.
WHEREAS, in the provinces of the Almighty, Pope John XXIII
has departed this life after having served in his papal office
less than five years; and
WHEREAS, during this brief tenure he served the members of his
v
religious faith and the world generally with such distinction and
ability that he has brought to his office, and to himself personally,
the sincere love and honor of the people of the world generally; and
WHEREAS, not only the Catholic community, but the world gener-
ally, has suffered a great loss in his passing from the earthly
scene; and
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City and its citizens are deeply appreciative
of the life and service of this great man.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH:
That tribute is hereby given Pope John XXIII for the excellency
of his life and service and for his great contribution to the progress
of mankind; and sympathy and condolence is hereby expressed to his
world-wide family in the loss sustained by his, passing. /J/�
