Result . �-� RESOLUTION AND ,r PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, Sec. 8-1-1 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, establishes within the Department of Public Safety of Salt Lake City, a local council of defense to consist of a director and such other members as may be appointed by the Board of City Commissioners; and, WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has determined that said council shall consist of five members. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that the local council of defense for Salt Lake City shall consist of the following persons who are hereby appointed and proclaimed as the members of said council: Chief of Police now Dewey J. Fillis Chief of Fire Department now Albert Thompson City Health Commissioner now Richard J. Nelson Public Safety Commissioner now James L. Barker, Jr. Director of Civil Defense now Phil W. Dern, said council and director to exercise the powers and duties prescribed by Chapter 1, Title 8 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that each of the above named persons shall take and subscribe to the oath prescribed by Sec. 8-1-9 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, before entering upon his duties as a member of said council.
