NA..ept,
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS a large number of written objections against
paving of the streets included in Extensions Nos. 77 and 82
have been duly filed with the City Recorder, the said object-
ions being prima facie enough to deprive the Commissioners of
jurisdiction to proceed with the proposed improvements and,
WHEREAS the determination of the actual validity of
many of the signatures made to the said written objections
is involved in doubt and difficulty both as to matters of fact
and of law and can be determined with certainty only in a
proceeding in a court of justice and,
13rEAS the sentiment of the property owners resident
on the streets affected by the proposed paving extensions is
plainly so uncertain and divided that the Commissioners are
unable to determinecwhat the majority of such property owners
desire in the way of paving and
WHEREAS the Commissioners desire the residents of the
districts affected by such proposed improvements to decide for
themselves upon adequate examination and information the sort
of paving which they wish in front of their property and,
WHEREAS the Commissioners, under the law, are not
obliged to proceed with the said improvements even though
fully convinced that there are not sufficient valid written
objections to defeat the proposed improvements
NOW THEREFORE be it resolved by the Board of Commiss-
ioners of Salt Lake City that the paving of the streets in-
cluded in the proposed Extensions Nos. 77 and 82 be not under-
taken during the current year or until such the as the
property owners in the said extensions shall determine
definitely the character of paving which they desire.
