Result
OF APPRECIATION
WHEREAS, Ray Cowan has been employed by Salt Lake City Cor-
poration since February, 1933; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure he has served in the Parks Depart-
ment, the Streets Department and the Water Department; and
WHEREAS, since the Water Department's computer operation has
become effective, Mr. Cowan has remained a valuable asset to Salt Lake
City, as he checks computer registers and is able to save the City a
great deal of money by looking for and finding errors by reason of
his extraordinary powers of computation; and
WHEREAS, he has faithfully and diligently performed his duties
with the City and has been a dependable employee to Salt Lake City
Corporation all these years, being reliable and accurate in his work
and seldom has he been off the job; and
,( WHEREAS, Salt Lake City and its residents owe him a debt of
gra6itude for his thirty-line years of devoted service; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Cowan is retiring, effective April 27, 1972, from
his employment with the Salt Lake City Water Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF SALT LAKE CITY that it does hereby express to Ray Cowan sincere and
deep appreciation for his faithful service to the City and its inhabi-
tants.
The Mayor and the Board of City Commissioners further extend
to him their best wishes for a long, productive and enjoyable period
of retirement and wish him good luck and the best of health therein.
The City Recorder is hereby directed to deliver a copy of this
resolution to Mr. Cowan.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of S It Lake City, Utah,
this 26th day of April, 1972.
