Honorable Richard P. Morris, Commissioner of Streets and Public Improvements, Salt Lake City, Utah. Dear Sir: - The corner of State and Exchange ''lace, owned by the Newhouse Realty Co. , and intended for a theatre, but apparently now abandoned, and the sidewalk around itb with the fence , has been a menance to the public for a long time. I now think that a permenentrshould be made to restore the sidewalk to_ 1it former condition by hating the owners construct a retaining wall -on the:,:line of the property, and fill in a and restore sidewalk to puVkil.0 use.. ' Inasmuch as winter is approachink ry the present planks will cause accidents to the public , and I consider it unsafe to allow it to remain as it present. Would ask the Honorable Board of Commissioners for instruction. Resi, ectfully, Building Inspector. `n RESOLUTION . WHEREAS,a building fence has been maintained over the sidewalk and a portion of the street at the corner of State Street and Exchange Place, by the Newhouse Realty Co.; and WHEREAS, the intended construction of a theatre on this property has apparently been abandoned and the fence has been a menace to the public for some time past; therefore BE IT RESOIvr;D, that the Building Inspector be instructed to notify the Newhouse Realty Co. to remove said fence within twenty days from the passage of this resolution. Adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, September 11th, 1912. 156'(,)g- 1 • Mayor itL y ecor.er
