Dear Sir:-
I am transmitting herewith, preliminary
estimate for paving alley and yards around city stables,
said estimate amounting to $"8,040.41.
The alley running from Sixth to Seventh
South Streets between State and Second East Streets
. could be paved in the regular manner by advertising and
assessing the abutters for their proportion, the total
l y ✓, amount to be assessed to the abutting property being
estimated at $1,696.23.
I woald respectfully recommend that the
City Recorder be instructed to advertise notice of in-
tention for paving said alley in order that one con-
tract may be let for such of the paving as it is not
thought advisable for the street department to do.
Provided that it is thought advisable to
pave State street with concrete, it may be possible to
have the concrete paving around the city stables done
at the same time and at similar prices. In any event,
we believe that it is advisable to have paving finished
around city stables before the beginning of the winter
season.

BE IT RESO.WED, that the City Engineer be instructed to prepare
Notice to Contractors for work of paving the yard around the City
stables on City Avenue between 6th and 7th South streets; also to
construct a 16 foot roadway of concrete, 8" thick, on the west/ side of
State Street from Ninth South street to the city limits,�a the

right-of-way of the street railway company, and that the City Recorder
be instructed to advertise said notice for a period of 20 days.
