Result RESOLUTION
..,+ It appearing to the Board of City Commissioners of Salt
Lake City that there are available and not in use among the citizens
of this city many desirable and meritorious paintings and other pic-
tures, and
WHIRELS, such works of art would be enjoyed and appreciated
by the eitisens of this community; and
WHEREAS, the corridors of the City and County Building and
other public places are available and suitable for the display of
such works of art.
NOW, THIREt-'ORE, BE I'T RESOLVED by the Board of Commission-
ers of Salt Lake City.that the Mayor of Salt Lake City be and he
hereby is appointed Chairman of a committee to be appointed by the
Mayor and to consist of seven persons including the Mayor to make a
survey and determine the number of such works of art suitable and
available for display in the corridors of the City and County Building,
or at some other public place, and to adopt such means as the said
committee shall deem advisable and proper to secure the loan or other
possession without cost to the city of Salt Lake of such works of art,
and to hang or otherwise display such works of art as said committee
shall secure and shall deem suitable in the corridors in the City and
County Building of Salt Lake City, or other publics, and the Mayor
shall formulate such rules for the governing and tenure of such com-
mittee as shall be approved by the Bo o Commissioners.
