Result RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City of Salt Lake is being rapidly built
up.in that portion adjacent and in proximity to the Fort Douglas
Military Reservation and the city itself and the citizens thereof
are going to considerable expense and making a great effort to
beautify their property by the planting of trees, shrubs, flowers
and grass; and
l<:iIE:R:.AS,under date of November 27, 1928, the War Depart-
ment of the United States government requester the various army
posts to beautify their surroundings; and
REN♦',R '•AS, in order to keep apace with the private pro-

perty adjoining the said Fort it will be necessary for the mili-
tary authorities to likewise beautify the grounds at said post
and the said. military authorities have manifested a willingness
so to do; and
WHEREAS, the beautification of said Fort Douglas Military
Reservation will -greatly a.dc to the beauty of this city.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARL OF COMMIS-
:
Sioners of Salt Lake City that the commanding officer of the Fort
• Douglas Military Reservation be and he hereby is advised that the
municipal authorities of Salt Lake City are willing to cooperate
with the military authorities of the Fort Douglas Military Reserva-
tion in every way possible toward the end that trees, shrubs, flower:
and grass will be planted and every means be taken for the purpose
of improving and making more beautiful the said military reservation.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said military authori-
ties be requested to commence activities towards this end and that
a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the commanding officer
