WHEREAS, it appears that Frontier Airlines is giving serious
consideration to moving its headquarters from Denver, Colorado
to another major city now being served by its airlines; and,
WHEREAS, Frontier Airlines has been an important factor in
contributing to the economy and development of Salt Lake City,
the State of Utah and adjacent intermountain territory through
the exellence and dependability of its service and the continued
improvement of its service to local communities, in particular
its service to Salt Lake City, Vernal and Moab; and,
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City has one of the finest airports and
aviation facilities in the United States and is in a position,
through normal methods of financing, to provide adequate buildings,
hangars, and other facilities that will be required now and in the
future for Frontier Airlines to maintain headquarters in Salt Lake
City; and,
WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of Utah, the Utah State
Aeronautics Commission and the Utah State Development Commission
have indicated they will render such assistance as they can to fill
the needs of Frontier Airlines in establishing and maintaining its
headquarters in Salt Lake City; and,
WHEREAS, the location of Frontier Airlines headquarters in
Salt Lake City would be of great benefit to the city and to the
State of Utah:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF SALT LAKE CITY that said Board does hereby officially invite and
request Frontier Airlines to establish and maintain its headquarters
in Salt Lake City in the event it decides to relocate the same.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah
this 19th day of April, 1966.
