RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, the law of this State provides that no licenses
shall be granted to sell intoxicating liquors outside of the
limits of .the business district of any city or town,IIITEREAS, it is obviously the intention of the legislature,
in enacting said law, that the sale of liquor in any of the
residence portions of cities or towns, shall be prevented,
and that the sale of liquor shall be prevented in any parts of
{ cities or towns, except in such parts as may properly and
j + correctly be termed "the business district, " as language is
commonly and ordinarily understeed; Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED: That in establishing the district in Salt Lake
City, wherein liquor licenses may issue, this Council shall
define such portion of the city as may reasonably and fairly
be denominated "the business district; " and be it further .
RESOLVXD.: '3'h,at no territory shall be included within such
district as shall not be contiguous thereto or which may be
distant therefrom.
