Gemin Keyser Matheson McConkie T✓a sco - - - - Mr. Chair - - - E LUTTON Result WHEREAS, Mr. F.S.Fernstrom, City Claim Agent and former City Councilman departed this life Thursday, August 26th, 1943; and WaHEhEAS, Mr. Fernstrom was a highly respected citizen, a christian gentleman and a trusted servant of Salt :, 1 Lake City, whose memory will be cherished by a loving family and a host of friends and associates. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the S Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City hereby attests its high appreciation and personal regard for the life and standards of Mr. F. S. Fernstrom. P He was a man of integrity, loyalty and willingness to serve his City and community and was a high- minded citizen and a loyal friend. Mr. Fernstrom was born in V+enersborg, Sweden, March 26, 1852 and came to Utah in 1876 as a convert of the Mormon Church, and took a keen interest in public affairs and in politics and was elected to office of Councilman for the ` Third Ward in January, 169E and served as Councilman for thirteen years, or until the old form of City &overnment was changed and the Commission Form of Government displaced councilmen, but Mr. Fernstrom was out of the City Government for only two months when his services and his knowledge of civic affairs, particularly concerning lands, ownership and history, were so needed by the City vovernment that he was brought back into the employ of the City as Claim Agent, a place he retained until the time of his death. In behalf of his many friends and his associate we extend to the family of Mr. F.S.Fernstrom our heartfelt sympathy. Vve share with them the sadness of his departure. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolu- tion be spread upon the minutes of the Board of Commissioners and that an embossed copy be forwarded to Mrs. Fernstrom and members of the family.
