WHEREAS, it is necessary to construct a new building to house the
Street Department Vehicle Repair Shops at the corner of Second West
and Eighth South Streets in Salt Lake City, Utah; and
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the acquisition,
construction and completion of the above named public improvements; and
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the acquisition
of the real property hereinafter described for the above named public
improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH:
1. That it is necessary and in the public interest of said city
and its inhabitants that the city construct a new building to house the
Street Department Vehicle Repair Shops at the corner of Second West and
Eighth South Streets in Salt Lake City, Utah, all in accordance with
the preliminary plans and drawings heretofore prepared for and approved
by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City.
2. That the construction of a new building to house the Street
Department Vehicle Repair Shops at the corner of Second West and Eighth
South Streets in Salt Lake City, Utah, is hereby authorized.
3. That the land hereinafter described and the whole thereof is
hereby determined to be necessary and the most suitable for the construc-
tion of said Vehicle Repair Shop facilities, and the acquisition of said
land by Salt Lake City for such purposes is hereby declared to be a
public necessity and for the welfare and protection of the inhabitants
of said city.

4. That eminent domain proceedings be and the same hereby are
authorized to be brought in the name of Salt Lake City by the Law
Department thereof to acquire all of the land hereinafter described for
the construction of a new building to provide vehicle repair facilities
at the location as hereinabove set forth.
5. That the parcel of land hereinabove referred to and hereby
authorized to be acquired by condemnation proceedings in accordance
with the statutes and constitution of the State of Utah relating to
eminent domain is situated in the County of Salt Lake, State of Utah,
and is more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 6, Block
7, Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, and running thence
South 2 rods; thence West 8-1/2 rods; thence North
2 rods; thence East 8-1/2 rods to the place of
BEGINNING.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 21st day of April, 1966.
