RESOLUTION .
WHEREAS , On August 7 , 1911 , the City Coimcil passed an ordi-
nance in the nature of a franchise to the Oregon Short Line Rail-
road Company upon the petition of the Central Planing Mill Company,
to lay, construct and operate a switch or spur standard gauge track
across Second North Street between Third West and Fourth West Stredts ,
according to the description set out in said franchise , which ordi-
nance was approved by the Mayor August 15, 1911; that by said fran-
chise the said grantee was required to accept the same in writing
within thirty days from said approval ; and
WHEREAS , The said thirty days have expired, and the said Rail-
road Company has omitted to accept said franchise owing to the fact ,
as it is claimed , it was not aware of the passage of the same , or
the approval thereof by the Mayor; and
WHEREAS, Said Railroad Company is now desirous of accepting
said franchise and the terms thereof as of thirty days after the
approval of the same ;
NOW THEREFORE, Be it resolved that the said Oregon Short Line
Railroad Company if hereby given permission too within five days after
the passa*s of this resolution, accept said franchise and its terms
as of thirty days after said August 15, 1911 .
