RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCES TO FAMILY OF PRESIDENT J. REUBEN CLARK WHEREAS, President J. Reuben Clark, a member of the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, died Friday, October 6, 1961; and WHEREAS, President Clark had dedicated his long and fruitful life to the service of his church, the country and this community; and, WHEREAS, he was an outstanding and dedicated church leader, civic leader, scholar, businessman, statesman and rancher; and WHEREAS, above all, he was a cultured Christian gentleman beloved by all; and WHEREAS, his tireless efforts have been of valuable benefit to the State of Utah and to his church and country; and WHEREAS, his death is a loss not only to his family, but to the entire City of Salt Lake and the State of Utah; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Commission of Salt Lake City, State of Utah, expresses to the bereaved family of President J. Reuben Clark its sincere sympathy and pays tribute to his integrity, devotion and service to the church and state. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Recorder forward a copy of this Resolution to the family of President J. Reuben Clark, deceased. Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, thin day of O�ztober, 1961.
