RESOLUTION..
Whereas,1-he Mountain States Telephone & Telegraph company states
in its communication of October 9,I9II,that they cannot at this time
foresee any conditions which would justify them in 'an increase of the
standard Bell rates for use of telephones in this city,and that they do
not contemplate nor have under consderation,any increase in said gates
novr therefore be it, •
Resolved, that they are hereby requested to enter into an agreement
with Salt Lake Ctty that they will not increase said rates without
the consent of the city, and in consideration of their so agreeing the.
city will make no objection to their continuing the use of the Independ--
ependent company property recently purchased by them until such reasonabb
time as may be necessary for the unification of the two systems as per
the terms of the official communication from the company to this council .

Resolved,further,that the city recorder is hereby directed to
serve upon said company a copy of this resolution with notice that a
reply is requested within ten days,otherwise this offer to be null and
