Result RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City duly
entered into a contract with J. W. Mellen for Paving Extension No.
103, the City by said contract providing for the payment to said
Mellen of the entire amount for the pavement of Twenty-first South
Street (formerly Twelfth South Street) , between East and
Ninth East Streets; and
WHEREAS, The State Road Commission had agreed to pay twenty-
five per cent of the abutters' portion of said contract, and is
now ready and willing to pay the sum of $6,404.00 to J. W. Mellen
as its proportion of said contract under said agreement aforesaid;
and
WHEREAS, The agreement was on the 7th day of May, 1917, duly
made and executed on behalf of said State Road Commission of the
State of Utah and J. W. Mellen wherein and whereby said State Road
Commission agreed to pay said sum of money to said J. Mellen
and said J. W. Mellen agreed to receive said sum of money and
exonerate said Salt Lake City from the payment of said sum of
46,404.00, and it is desired that the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City execute said contract as one of the parties thereto:

NO1; THEREFORE, Be it resolved, That the Mayor and City
Recorder be, and they are hereby authorized and directed to execut
on behalf of Salt Lake City said ottlaet r ferred to herein.
