A RESQLUTION LEVYING TAXES UPON ALL REAL
AND PERSONAL PROPERTY WITHIN SALT LAKE CITY, MADE TAXABLE
BY LAW, FOR THE YEAR 1939.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners
of Salt Lake City, Utah
That for the purpose of defraying the necessary
and proper expenses of Salt Lake City and maintaining the government
thereof, there be and there is hereby levied upon all the real
and personal property within Salt Lake City, made taxable by law,
for the fiscal year ending December 31, 1939, a tax of fifteen
(15) mills on each dollar assessed valuation of said property.
Said tax is hereby levied and to be raised
for the following purposes, and is and shall be apportioned to
such purposes in the following manner:
CONTINGENT EXPENSES
To defray contingent expenses, one (1.000) mill on each
dollar assessed valuation of said property.
AUDITOR
To defray the expense of the Auditor one hundred forty-
five thousandths (145/1000) of a mill on each dollar assessed
valuation of said property.
PUBLIC LIBRARIES
To maintain public libraries and free reading rooms six
thousand, six hundred sixty-six ten thousandths (6666/10,000)
of a mill on each dollar assessed valuation of said property.
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY
To defray the expense of the Department of Public Safety

four and three thousand, seven hundred forty
-eight ten
thousandths (4.3748) mills on each dollar assessed valua-
tion of said property.
PARKS AND PUBLIC PROPERTY
To defray the expense of the Department of Parks
and Public Property one and one thousand six ten thousandths

(1.1006) mills on each dollar assessed valuation of said
property.
STREETS AND SIDEWALKS
To open, improve and repair streets and sidewalks
two and two thousand seven hundred nineteen ten thousandths
(2.2719) mils on each dollar assessed valuation of said
property.
BONDsAND BOND INTEREST
For the payment of interest on outstanding bonds
and to constitute a Sinking Fund for thepayment of the
principal of outstanding bonds five and four thousand

four hundred eleven ten thousandths (5.4411) mills on each
dollar assessed valuation of said property.
It is necessary in the opinion of the Board of Commis,
sioners for the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of
Salt Lake City, Utah, that this resolution shall take effect
upon its passage and an emergency is hereby declared to exist
so that said levy may be made and said tax collected as required
by law.
This resolution shall take effect upon its
adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah, this /0 day of August A. D.1939.
