Salt Lake City, Utah, departed this life October 8th, 1940,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board
of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, that, because
of the outstanding character and public service of Com-
missioner William i,iurdoch, both as an official and as a
citizen, working for the betterment of the State and of
the City, an appreciation of his life and service should
be incorporated in the public records of this City.
Mr. Murdoch has served the City of Salt Lake
as Commissioner of Public Affairs and Finance since January
1st, 1936, with honor and distinction to himself and to the
City. He was a successful business man and his affable
disposition, ability and leadership called him into service
for many high civic and national activities. He was a
charter member of the Exchange Club and took part in its
many branches of service.
He enjoyed the love and respect of an unusually
large host of friends and he was cherished by a loving
wife and family. His passing is a great loss to the City
and to his friends and associates.
The Board of Commissioners of Salt Fake City,
for and on behalf of the citizens of Salt Lake City, the
members of said Board and the many friends of William
iviurdoch, does hereby express to Ors. Murdoch and to the
family, profound condolence and deepest sympathy upon the
passing of their husband and father.

BE IT FURTHER ABSOLVED that this resolution be
spread upon the minutes of the Board of Commissioners and
that an engrossed copy be forwarded to Mrs. Alurdoch and
members of the family.

Lake City, Utah, this 10th day of October, A.D. 1940.
