Result . . . .
WHEREAS, the Union Pacific Railroad Company has proposed the dis-
continuance of passenger trains Numbers 9 and 10 between Ogden, Utah
and Los Angeles, California; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City is of the
opinion that the convenience and necessity of the inhabitants of Salt
Lake City requires that passenger train service between Salt Lake City
and Los Angeles and intermediate points be maintained at its present
level,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH:
That this board does hereby express its strong opposition to any
lessening of passenger train service between Salt Lake City and Los
Angeles and intermediate points and that it expresses its position that
the Union Pacific Railroad Company should be required by the Interstate
Commerce Commission to maintain passenger service between Salt Lake City
and Los Angeles and intermediate points sufficient to carry all persons
who desire reservations between such points; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Recorder be instructed to
forward a copy of this Resolution to the Interstate Commerce Commission,
Washington 25, D.C., to arrive no later than July 1, 1963.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
....bth Air day of June, 1963.
