WHEREAS, crime within the United States is increasing at an alarming rate; and WHEREAS, it appears that the present state and policy of the law is to protect the individual rather than the law-abiding majority; and WHEREAS, Salt Lake City is greatly concerned with seeing that not only the accused be brought to justice but also that justice be brought to the community and nation in the form of peace and mutual respect of each person's property rights; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY that it is in favor of the American Bar Associa- tion's calling upon the individual State Bar Associations to conduct meetings among its member lawyers in an effort to suggest and prepare changes in the law which will provide protection to the decent and law-abiding citizens of our country. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be sent to the Congress of the United States, Governor Calvin L.
