Romney, has resigned his office as City Commissioner of Salt Lake City to accept employment as Utah Director of Federal Housing Administration; and, WHEREAS, the electors of Salt Lake City have elected Mr. Romney to the office of City Commissioner for five consecutive terms, and have thereby expressed their confidence in his ability and integrity and their appreciation of the service he has rendered Salt Lake City; and, WHEREAS, the present members of the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City have been honored to work with him and have deeply appreciated his friendly cooperation and helpfuliness and have greatly 5 benefited by his experienced counsel and advice; and, WHEREAS, his able and efficient administration of his office has reflected credit and honor upon the administration of the affairs of the City generally, and has redounded to the credit of the City Commission as a whole and to the citizens and residents of Salt Lake City: NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH: That there is hereby expressed to Commissioner L. C. Romney the sincere and deep appreciation of the members of the City Commission for the honor and privilege of working with him over the years in the administration of the affairs of this city; That the City Commission hereby pays tribute and honor to him for the ability, integrity, fidelity and devotion which have char- acterized his services as a city commissioner; That the City Commission on behalf of itself and the citizens of Salt Lake City hereby expresses to him sincere thanks and grati- tude for the outstanding contribution which he has made to the character, growth, progress and well being of this community. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Commission hereby expresses its sincere felicitations upon his new appointment and wishes him every happiness and success in his endeavors in that office. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Recorder give to Mr. Romney a copy of this resolution duly executed by members of the city com- mission.
