WHEREAS, Salt Lake City Corporation owns certain streets, alleys
and other rights of way and easements within the perimeters of the
Provo-Jordan River Parkway; and
WHEREAS, the State of Utah through its Department of Natural
Resources, Division of Provo-Jordan River Parkway Authority is in the
process of obtaining property rights within the said area in order
to protect and preserve the area of said parkway; and
WHEREAS, vacation or abandonment of said rights of way or easements
within said parkway is not in the best interests of the public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of
Satl Lake City, no further vacations or abandonments of City owned
or controlled property occur within the perimeters of the Provo-Jordan
River Parkway.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be delivered
to the department head of the Engineering Department, Water Department,
Parks Department and Streets Department.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City this
