WHEREAS, The contract for paving ZTorth Liain Street
specifies that the Contractor shall not excavate below sub-
grade, and that the snbgrade shall be rolled with a steam
roller weighing not less than ten tons; and

:7HEREAS, The Contractor on TTorth Lain Street has ex-
cavated below subgrade and has not rolled the same with a
roller weighing ten tons,./
ITOW THEREEOI'.E, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Board of
Public Works be instructed to inform this Council as to its
reasons for permitting these violations of the contract.
