I?1nC -L:3, a resolution was passed by this Council :Tovenber 16, 1911, all approved by the Mayor on November I7th, 1911, r-evesting the I"Iountain States Telephone aiA. Telegraph Company to enter into an. agreement with Salt Lake City that said company would not increase telephone rates without the consent of said city, said city proposing in consideration of such agreement to make no objection to the use by said company of the property placed in the streets of • said city by the Utah Independent Telephone Company under the franchise of that company, (which said franchise has been forfeited by said Utah Independent Telephone Company by reason of the sale or alleged sale by said company to the :Rocky Mountain Hell Telephone Company, without the consent of Salt Lake City having been first had and obtained as provided in said franchise) said resolution requesting the acceptance or rejection of said proposal within ten days from the service of said resolution upon said Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company, and, 1,1IEMAS, more than ten days have elapsed since the service of said resolution upon said company, and said company has made no response thereto; Now, therefore, be it J SOLV : That said _fountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company, and its predecessor the pocky ;Iuntain Bell Telephone Compa. ly, and the Utah Independent Telephone Company, are, and each of them is, hereby ordered and directed to at once Corar:erice the removal from the streets, avenues, alleys and other public places of Salt Lake City, • all property placed therein by the Utah Independent .
