Result RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, it is necessary in order to extend and safe-
guard the water supply of Salt Lake City to build two reservoirs
in Big Cottonwood Canyon, and
WHEREAS, a portion of the land to be occupied by said
reservoirs is in the Forest Reserve of the United States and is
therefore necessary that the city obtain from the United States
Government a right-of-way for said. reservoirs,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the location of two
reservoirs in Big Cottonwood Canyon as located by the survey and
map and accompanying field notes made by the City Engineer of
Salt Lake City are hereby approved and the said reservoirs located
as follows:
The Argenta Reservoir:
The initial point of the survey of which bears
south 84° 22' 30" west from the east quarter section corner
of Section 13, Tp. 2 S. R. 2 E. of the Salt Lake Meridian,
3188.5 feet distant, containing 118.3 acres of land:
The Mill 9' Reservoir:
The initial point of the survey of which bears
north 62°40' 30" west 1461.1 feet and soath 88° 04' 30"
west 531.31 feet (the direct bearing being north 70° 21'
30" west 1942 feet)from the northeast section corner of
Section 18, Tp. 2 S. R. 3 E. of the Salt Lake Meridian,
containing 223.4 acres of land and that no lake or lake bed,
stream or stream bed is used for the said reservoirs except
as shown on this map,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Recorder
be, and they are hereby authorized and directed to sign
as-
and attest respectively the certificate upon the map hereby
presented by the City Engineer and affix thereto the seal of
said city and that the City Engineer be directed to apply to
the United States Land Office for a right-of-way for said
reservoirs.
