Result RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Trustees of the Memorial Fund created by
the One Hundred Forty-Fifth United States field Artillery have pe-
titioned the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, to
grant a site in Memory Park, located in oalt Lake city, for the
purpose of erecting a monument in memory of those valorous members
of Utah's splendid regiment who made the supreme sacrifice in the
service of their country during the 'World War; and
WHEREAS, the One Hundred Forty-Fifth United States Field
Artillery regiment, formerly known as the First Utah National
Guard, was composed of Utah men and youths who responded to their
country's call in that great conflict; and
3HEREAS, Memory Park is named and has been dedicated as
a tribute to those who answered their country's greatest call and
brought honor to their families, their state and their country; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the memory of the
members of the One Hundred Forty-Fifty United States Field Artillery
who gave their lives in the great conflict be perpetuated and their
heroism be glorified before the coming generations.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the following tract
of land:
Beginning at a point on the east bank of City Creek
Stream, (said point being on the line of continuation of
the north well of the City's brick barn or stable building
located on the west side of City Creek Canyon) , thence in
a southeasterly direction along the east bank of said stream
75 ft; thence east 75 ft.; thence north 68 ft. to a point
on the easterly continuation of the line of the north wall
as aforesaid mentioned, thence west 100 ft.,more or less,
to the place of beginning;
which is located within Memory Park be and the same is hereby grani

;fed and dedicated for the purpose of erecting a memorial monument
to the members of the One Hundred Forty-Fifth United states _Field j
Artillery regiment who died during the period of the :Norld Par; and
BE IT FURTFER RESOLVED, that upon the completion and
dedication of said memorial monument, Salt Lake City will forever
maintain and perpetually care for and preserve the same.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution
'be spread upon the minutes of this Board and the City Recorder
authorized and directed to transmit certified copy of this resolu-
tion to the Trustees of the One Hundred Forty-Fifth United States
Field Artillery memorial Fund and a copy to the headquarters of
that regiment.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
