1 BHEREAS John F. Bennett at the age of sevent ”two
� Y
years departed this life on February 9th, 1938, after many years
of useful service in Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, said John F. Bennett was very successful in
business. Many of Utahts largest industries and institutions owe
their success to Mr. Bennett's ability as an organizer; and
WHEREAS, he was a genius for making friends and quiet-
ly rendering substantial aid to many unfortunate Persons, who will
mourn his passing; and
WHEREAS, his departure is felt as a deep loss to the
Board of Commissioners and the community at large.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commis- _
sioners that the highest appreciation for the long service and splen-
did character of John P. Bennett be expressed by the City of Salt Lake
• for and on behalf of the officers of said city and the community as
a whole to the surviving widow, Mrs. Rosetta Wallace Bennett, and the
family. The city and state have lost a true and upright citizen and
his church a stalwart supporter of righteousness. All extend to his
wife and children their sympathy in their hour of sorrow.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be
spread upon the minutes of the Board of Commissioners and that a copy
be forwarded to Mrs. Bennett and me ers of the amily.
