RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Miss Gussie Friend has been employed by Salt Lake City as a
police woman for 25 years; and,
WHEREAS, during the said 25 years she has rendered outstanding service
to and on behalf of Salt Lake City, said service being far and beyond the
call of duty; end,
WHEREAS, In fulfilling her position she has rendered loyal and
efficient service to said Salt Lake City and has brought credit to Salt
Lake City, particularly to the Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, in performing said outstanding service as a police woman she
has performed many acts of kindness to the unfortunate, and in so doing,
has rendered many acts of charity to those who were under her charge or
supervision, particularly to juveniles and woman delinquents; and,
WHEREAS, ,Miss Gussie Friend is now retiring from the Police Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY:
That the retirement of Miss Cuss's Friend be accepted with a vote of
thanks to her for her devotion to duty and her loyalty as a police woman
over the years of service, and we further commend her for her outstanding
services performed as a police woman; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Miss Friend have our best wishes for
many years of joy, health, prosperity and happiness during her retirement;
and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread upon the minutes
of the Board of Commissioners and a copy presented to Miss Gussie Friend.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
