RESOLUTION
WHEREAS. the undersigned are the Mayor. Salt Lake City
Commissioners, the Salt Lake City Fire Chief and the Chairman of
the Citizens Committee on Public Planning and Capital improvements,
and
WHEREAS, the construction of a new Fire Station No. 1 has bean
commenced to more adequately serve the expanding needs of a growing
Salt Lake City, and
WHEREAS, the said Fire Station No. 1 constitutes the first
major capital improvement to be undertaken by Salt Lake City in a
proposed program of expanding the physical plant of Salt Lake City
and the capital Improvements necessary thereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED BY THE UNDERSIGNED as the Board
of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, the Fire Chief of the Salt Lake
City Firs Department and the Chairman of the Citizens Committee on
Public Planning end Capital Improvements that this building be
henceforth dedicated to the use of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City
as Fire Station No. 1, and that said building serve as the initial
monument to the economic growth, expansion and prosperity of Salt
Lake City as a major city In the State of Utah and of the United
States of America, this "' day of March. 1961.
