Result
/ RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
WHEREAS, Captain Arthur Stillwell has served as the Commanding
Officer of the Salt Lake City Corps of the Salvation Army since 1968
and previous thereto served in a similar capacity in San Francisco,
California, Cheyenne, Wyoming and Uilo, Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, Captain Stillwell has distinguished himself and the
service organization which he heads in Salt Lake City by his concern
for and dedicated efforts to ease the burdens of persons in need of
a helping hand; and
WHEREAS, Captain Stillwell's active participation in drug and
alcohol rehabilitation programs in Salt Lake City has been of great
benefit to the residents of Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, Captain Stillwell is being transferred to Phoenix,
Arizona to assume the Youth Leadership of the Salvation Army in that
area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that it does hereby express to Captain Stillwell
its sincere and deep appreciation for his faithful service to the City
and its inhabitants in ministering to the physical and emotional
needs of those whose unfortunate circumstances have placed them in
desperate need of such help. Said Board further extends to Captain
Stillwell its best wishes for a long and personally enjoyable career
in the service of mankind.
The Mayor of Salt Lake City is hereby directed to deliver a copy
of this Resolution to Captain Stillwell.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 19th day of January, 1972.
