RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCE
WHEREAS, Detective PERCY L. CLARK was killed January 11, 1973,
while apprehending suspects in a robbery attempt in Salt Lake City;
and
WHEREAS, his untimely death is deeply mourned by all who knew
him; and
WHEREAS, Detective Clark joined the Salt Lake City Police force
November 16, 1951, and at his death held the rank of Patrolman 1st
Grade and was currently assigned to the Detective Division of the
Salt Lake City Police force; and
WHEREAS, Detective Clark was respected and admired by all of
his fellow officers and was acknowledged as a natural leader and
a model police officer; and
WHEREAS, he was particularly noted as an expert marksman and
an authority on ballistics; and
WHEREAS, in his passing, Salt Lake City has lost one of its
most loyal and respected police officers.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners
of Salt Lake City, Utah, that it does hereby express on its own
behalf and on behalf of the residents of Salt Lake City, its
profound grief and sorrow and expresses its most sincere sympathy
to Detective Clark's survivors for the great personal loss which
they have sustained.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
delivered to the family of Detective Clark as an expression of
our sympathy and deep feeling of loss.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 15th day of January, 1973.
