Jones, City Auditor, will expire at 12:00 o'clock noon, January 2, 1978, and WHEREAS, Lawrence A. Jones has well and faithfully served Salt Lake County for twelve (12) years as an employee, the last four (4) as County Commissioner, and Salt Lake City Corporation as an employee since 1962, the last twelve (12) years of which were spent as City Auditor, to which, as a credit to his ability, he was elected the last two terms unopposed; and WHEREAS, during his employment, he has received numerous commenda- tions and awards, including the Certificate of Conformance from the Municipal Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada; and WHEREAS, Lawrence A. Jones has performed all of his duties efficiently, faithfully, and honestly, and has thus earned the respect and love of his colleagues, City employees, and the public with whom he dealt; and WHEREAS, during his long tenure in office he has served with great fidelity and his untiring efforts have carefully protected the interests of Salt Lake City while he has treated all he has contacted with courtesy and a quiet efficiency, which are qualities uniquely his. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY that said Board does hereby express to Lawrence A. Jones on behalf of itself and the residents of Salt Lake City, their sincere appreciation and gratitude for his devoted and capable service; for the friendship he has given to all of his associates; and for his years of loyalty and dedication. The Board further extends to him its fondest wishes that he enjoy happiness, health and success in -2- his new endeavors.
