OF CONDOLENCE
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City was saddened to learn of the death of
one of its most prominent citizens, Maurice Warshaw, whom they appre-
ciated, respected and admired; and
WHEREAS, he distinguished himself as a businessman, rising from
immigrant poverty to preside over a business enterprise including
seventeen retail stores in three western states; and
WHEREAS, his varied philanthropic interests justly won him renown
in Salt Lake, the State of Utah, nationally and internationally; and
WHEREAS, he endeared himself to the local community by his many
benevolent and generous acts toward local matters of need, devoting
money, time and effort to help the handicapped, the needy and community
projects of merit; and
WHEREAS, his civic leadership will be sorely missed.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF CITY COMMISSIONERS on behalf of
themselves, the employees of Salt Lake City and the City's residents
hereby extend their deepest felt condolences to the family of Maurice
Warshaw. May they ever be comforted in their loss by the bright memory
of his many accomplishments and the many monuments of community and
public service he has left as a testament of his life's work.

this 9th day of January, 1979.
