t7HEREAS, December 21, 1920 through the Spring of
1921 has been officially designated as the time for the
celebration of the Pilgrim Tercentenary, both in the nation
and in the State of Utah, and,
WHEREAS, it is the high privilege of every
citizen and of every community in the land to do honor to
the Pilgrims who, in 1620, established Anglo-Saxon traditions
and institutions on American soil,
BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and City Com-
missioners of Salt Lake City, approve civic celebration in
honor of the Pilgrim Tercentenary, and further,
BE IT RESOLVED, That the Mayor of Salt Lake City
appoint a Committee that, with its officers elected from
the appointees, shall have charge of such plans for celebrat-
ing as it may inaugurate.
