APPROVING PROGRAM CATEGORY REVISION
BE IT HEREBY KNOWN AND REMEMBERED:
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Salt Lake
County and the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City have
entered into an inter-local agreement for the operation of
the Salt Lake Model Cities Agency; and
WHEREAS, both Salt Lake County and Salt Lake City have
entered into a Contract with the United States Department
of Housing and Urban Development for the execution of the
Agency's Comprehensive Demonstration Plan pursuant to Title I
of the Demonstration Cities and Metropolitan Development Act
of 1966; and
WHEREAS, the Crime and Delinquency Program category in
the Comprehensive Demonstration Plan of the Salt Lake Model
Cities Program included four (4) projects for a total cost
of $101 ,340; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to increase the Crime
and Delinquency Program category to $156,133 in order to meet
the original requirements of the Specialized Police Tactical
Force project as contained in a proposal to the Law Enforce-
ment Assistance Administration; and
WHEREAS, HUD Circular MC 3150.2 requires local governing
body approval whenever the Model Cities Program proposes to
increase a program category by $25,000 or 5% whichever is
greater; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
and the Board of County Commissioners of Salt Lake County
constitute the local governing body;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Crime and Delin-
quency Program category expenditure authorization be increased
from $101 ,340 to $156,133 to account for the increase necessi-
tated by the implementation of the Specialized Police Tactical
Force project.
