Result
The Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah,
met as a Board of Canvassers at 12 o'clock, soon, on Monday the
6th day of July, L. D. 1931, ,in accordance with law, for the purpose of
canvassing the returns of the special bond election held in said City on Wednes-
day,
the let day of July, A. D. 1931, at which election there was submitted to
each qualified electors of said.City as had paid a property tax therein in the
year next preceding said election a fellow,ing question, to.eit:
"Shall Salt Lake ity, Salt Lake County, State of Utah,
create an indebtedness by issuing its negotiable coupon bonds in
the sum of Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) for the purpose
of supplying saidCity with water and increasing, enlarging,
extending and perfecting the present water supply and water-
works system of Salt Lake City, and for supplying said City and
the inhabitants thereof with additional water, the said addition-
al water, water supply and waterworks system for supplying such
water to be owned and controlled by the said municipality; said
bonds to be absolutely due and payable serially in not more than
forty (40) years from their date and bearing interest at the rate
of not to exceed five per cent (5%) per annum, payable as shall
hereafter be determined by said City by Ordinance?"

The returns of the special bond election were then canvassed by said
Commissioners, sitting as a Board of Canvassers, by counting the votes cast in
each Municipal Ward, which gave the following results:

The adoption of the following resolution was then moved by Commission-
er Sohn F.Bowman
RESOLUTIO N
WHEREAS, a special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Salt Lake County, State of Utah, was held at the hour of 12 o'clock goon
on Pfign day , the 6th day of duly, 1931, in accordanoe with law, for
the purpose of sitting as a Board of Canvassers to canvass the returns of the
special bond election held in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Wednesday, the let day
of July, 1931, for the purpose of voting upon the following question, to-wit:
"Shall Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, State of Utah,
create an indtbtedneas by issuing its negotiable coupon bonds in
the mace Two M llion Dollars (42,000,000.00) for the purpose
of supplying said City with water and increasing, enlarging,
extending, and perfecting the present water supply and water-
works system of Salt Labe City, and for supplying said City and.
the inhabitants thereof with additional water, the said addi-
tional water, water supply and waterworks system for supplying
such i►ater to be Owned and controlled`by the said municipality;

AND WHEREAS, said Board of C'ommisaioners have fully and regularly can-
vassed.all the retains of said election and it appearing that the judges of
paid election for each Ehnicipal Ward and voting district within said City, have
,.-de full and complete returns thereof, and that said election was duly and
regularly held in each Mmicipal Ward and voting place throughout said City,
HOW, THEREPDHS, BE MIMZOLTED, that on the question of issuing bonds
in the .awn of $2,000,000.00 for the purpose of defraying the expense of supply-
ing said City with water and increasing, enlarging, extending and perfecting the
i•resent water supply and waterworks system of said City and for supplying said
City and the inhabitants thereof with additional water, the said additional. water,
ter supply and waterworks system for supplying such water to be owned.and con-
rolled by said City, a total of 5085 votes were meat at
aid election; that 3405 of the votes so oast were in favor
•f such proposition and for the issuing of bonds therefor in the sum of
,000,000.00; and that 1 680 of the votes so oast were against
such proposition and against the issuing of bonds for the sum of $2,000,000.00

aforesaid; that at said election there was and is a majority of i 1725
votes cast for such proposition and for the issuing of bonds for the said sus
of $2,000,000.00.
AND BE IT FURTHER RE9DLVED, that at said election the right and
power was given to said. Salt Lake City to incur an indebtedness in the sum of
$2,000,000.00 and to issue bonds therefor for the purpose of defraying the ex-
pense of supplying said. City with water and increasing, enlarging, extending
and perfecting the present water supply and waterworks system of said. City and
for supplying said City and the inhabitants thereof with additional water, the
said additional water, water supply and waterworks system for supplying such
water to be owned. and controlled by said City.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing.resolution was seconded
by Commissioner Harry L.Finch and upon being put to a vote was unani-
mously carried by the affirmative vote of all Commissioners present, the vote
being as follows:
