Catmull COMMISSIONER Endorsing Salt Lake County's appli- cation for a federal grant to plan a comprehensive "Model Cities Program" PreeeMld to So Bard of Commlistentn AND PASSED itvievutstMAY 1 4 19969 � t�'f C1EY RECORDER I , s' li 7l ♦ k � I Salt Lake City & County,- Utah Page # 68 7 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Salt Lake City desires to enter into a cooperative agreement with Salt Lake County; and WHEREAS, under the terms of the Inter local Co-operation Act of the State of Utah, Salt Lake City has the authority to enter into such agreement with the County; and WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of Salt Lake City to enter into an agreement and cooperate with the County with respect to the filing of an application for a planning grant under the Demonstra- tion Cities and Metropolitan Development Act of 1966, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of Salt Lake City, Utah as follows: 1. That Salt Lake City will endorse the application which is filed by Salt Lake County for a planning grant under the Demon- stration Cities and Metropolitan Development Act of 1966; and 2. That Salt Lake City will be a participant with Salt Lake County in the said application; and 3. That in endorsing said application, Salt Lake City recognizes and agrees that Salt Lake County will be the sponsoring and administrative agent involved with the program resulting from said application; and 4. That the services covering the program resulting from said application will be organized and established under the terms of the Interlocal Co-operation Act (Title 11, Chapter 13, Utah Code Annotated 1953) ; and 5. That the boundaries of the neighborhoods set forth in the application are subject to revision during the planning year as pro- blems arise and the program solutions are defined during the planning phase; and • Salt Lake City & County', Utah Page # 69 6. That prior to the implementation phase, the Model Cities Program or any part thereof, may be submitted to a vote of the- • electorate; and 7. That in endorsing this application, the use of eminent domain for the rehabilitation of private property in the neighborhoods defined in said application is expressly prohibited; and 8. That Salt Lake City will provide professional and technical assistance through its existing personnel as its contribution to this program and it will not be required to furnish any other funding or capital outlay.
