Result
WHEREAS, the Rama Nueve group of Bolivia has been brought to
Salt Lake City through an artisan travel grant; and
WHEREAS, the Rama Nueve group represents all of the schools in
Bolivia that have been built through the help of Utah school children;
and
WHEREAS, the Rama Nueve's travel to Salt Lake City directs a
thank you to the 50,000 Utah students who contributed to the building
of such schools; and
WHEREAS, Rama Nueve are also representatives and ambassadors of
Oruro and represent the talents, culture and youth of Bolivia; and
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City has recognized Oruro as a sister city
with the hope that it will create a lasting friendship between the
citizens of Salt Lake City and Oruro, Bolivia; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Salt Lake City are grateful for the
contribution of time and talents by the Rama Nueve group to the school
children of Salt Lake City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of City Commissioners
of Salt Lake City, that on its own behalf and on behalf of the citizens
of Salt Lake City we do hereby express appreciation to the Rama Nueve
for bringing to the students of Salt Lake City their talents and
friendship.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be presented
to the Rama Nueve group in open Commission meeting this 4th day of
March, 1976.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 4th day of March, 1976.
